I may have missed it, but I haven't heard it stated one way or the other whether Lea has all the same abilities as Axel.

If you take Axel's considerable fighting skill and his Fire Magic, and add that to the power of a Keyblade Weilder, it seems like he'd be on a level to at least duke it out with just about anyone in the KH universe, if not win outright.

I think he kept his fire powers that he gained as a nobody. It seems that humans that were once nobodies keep the powers that they had as nobodies, as shown with Braig and Isa.

On the other hand, Ienzo and Even don't seem particularly dangerous anymore...

We only saw them for maybe 2 minutes max. Their powers wouldn't have just vanished anyways. If anything, most of them had their skills prior to becoming Nobodies. Braig certainly did.

Yeah, Braig, Isa, and probably Aeleus, Dilan and Lea were all fairly capable warriors BEFORE becoming Nobodies, whereas Even and Ienzo were more scientists...

They really don't have to be fighters to be able to battle, thanks to their powers and weapons. Zexion and Even were scientists, yet they proved more than capable to fight the heroes.

I think their powers are just elaborate, highly specialised iterations of magic spells of the same element, or the result of them incorporating it into their battle style. It seems that in the series, magic can be learned by anyone, so it stands to reason that the original personae had picked magic up prior to becoming Nobodies. If that's the case, then of course, upon recompletion they will still retain their powers.

Exactly. Fighter ≠ Magic. You can be a great mage but an awful fighter, but like Solosis said they all exhibited adequate fighting skills, even those characters who disliked fighting or exerting any effort.

They wouldn't have suddenly become super proficient at fighting just by becoming Nobodies.

Even with his power retained from his time as a nobody + a keyblade, I don't think this makes it to where he take on anyone he wants to in the KH series. In fact I question seriously if Lea is even in the top 10 strongest KH characters. I'm pretty sure all forms of Xehanort are stronger than Lea, Probably Isa and Braig are stronger than Lea, Sora, Riku, and Mickey could probably all beat him, Yen Sid I say is stronger, Aqua could probably beat him too. Roxas, Ventus, and Xion are questionable because we don't really know where they would stand in comparison to where a lot of the characters are now. I'd put Lea in the top 20 strongest KH characters, but not top 10. The reason I say top 20 is because judging from the Original Organization XIII Members I would place Axel as high mid tier, around Marluxia level since they seemed even in their fight in COM and Marluxia IMO is in low top tier, so I don't see much of a difference between those two in terms of power.

I'm not sure why we're suddenly talking about Axel's position in the top-X strongest characters, but surely the protagonists don't have to be stronger than the antagonists from the get-go? Being initially weaker than the bad guys is actually one of the many reasons the writers can use to develop them as characters.

And the topic of who's stronger than whom is always a tricky one because being "strong" isn't solely determined by one's physical strength. Many things come into play, such as wits and intelligence, ability to read the flow of battle, tactics employed, survival, and motivations, among other things. If it depended solely on physical strength, Lexaeus and Xaldin would have been among the last men standing of the old Organization because Nomura had stated that they were the two physically strongest members after Xemnas.

I was just bringing up Axel's strength because the thread starter mentioned that Lea with a keyblade should be able to duke it out with anyone in the series. Which is why I was saying that I think there are a good number of people in the series that are above Lea even if Lea has a keyblade. I mean I find it very unlikely that Lea would last long against Master Xehanort (Young or Old) or Mickey. Lea just started as a keyblade apprentice, and Mickey is a master so Mickey should be able to easily beat Lea. Master Xehanort (Young and Old) seem to be the most powerful character(s) in the series so they would probably beat Lea without much effort.

Also, I thought when Nomura brought up where Organization members ranked in terms of strength that he meant overall power (their full combat scheme) not just physical strength. I may be wrong, but if I remember correctly I believe he stated like the top 5 most powerful members were:

1. Xemnas
2. Roxas
3. Xaldin
4. Lexaeus
5. Saix

And the way I've always ranked them past the top 5 was based on what I've seen them do in the series and how they fair against other characters outside of gameplay (such as Axel vs. Marluxia in COM). So i've always ranked them as:

Top Tier
1. Xemnas
2. Roxas
3. Xaldin
4. Lexaeus
5. Saix
6. Xigbar
7. Marluxia
Mid Tier
8. Axel
9. Larxene
10. Zexion (Based on the Fact That His Ability is Haxed)
11. Luxord (Control of Time, Again Haxed Ability)
Low Tier
12. Vexen
13. Demyx

I do remember this list floating around in the outer recesses of teh interwebz somewhere. Anyway, In regards to the OP, I'm pretty sure that he still keeps his elemental powers and, as stated by others here on this thread, that his powers could very well simply be attacks infused with magic.
