Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories Manga

Image After the success of the Kingdom Heart series, Shiro Amano wrote up and illustrated a Kingdom Hearts manga. The Kingdom Hearts manga covered Sora's journey throughout Kingdon Hearts. So it followed him from relaxing at Destiny Islands to landing in a home for creatures who have lost their worlds to a showdown between two friends. It managed to do fairly well in sales in Japan, so the thought on people's minds were if it was to continue. Well soon the release of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories in manga form was released.

Shiro Amano decided to continue with the manga and did both the illustration and script on the manga again. Square-Enix published the manga in Japan. The manga was to span both Sora's Story and Reverse Rebirth. Three volumes have been released in total in its country of origin, and the manga has been completed. It was also followed by 3 novels. Two of the novels followed Sora throughout his journey through castle Oblivion. The final novel showed Riku's Story while in the sub-levels of Castle Oblivion.

Image The manga has been licensed in English and is being published by Tokyo Pop. Everyone was wondering when exactly it would be released in the United States, and we got the answer. Beginning on October 10, 2006, we got the manga released in English.

This manga takes a different tone then its prequel had. It's more humorous in both the writing and the art. It shows throughout the story: whether its Larxene mocking Vexen, or Vexen's scrunched up face in the next panel. It seems this manga can't go a few pages without cracking a joke. In one page Sora, Donald and Goofy are about to use a trinity move on Axel, only to run into a wall because Donald made the floor to icy. Lets not get confused though. The story can get quite dark and serious when it needs to be.

Make sure to pick up more copies as they are released in English.
